Busy Bee

Jacob Josh Kajebe , 2022 , Kampala

“Busy bee “just like the name busy was inspired by the very 1st lockdown in uganda in 2020 from Wednesday, April 1, to prevent further spread of the coronavirus .During this time a number of people lost their jobs and others simply could not work as they were tagged less essential. The typical day for
most ugandas at the time was spent inside the house .They were advised to even do physical exercises in their living rooms .I like many others spent my time on line trying to get inspired and also creating and discovering myself through experimenting with art.
I realised however that my mother was having quite alot of house work due to the number of people that had gathered at home.During this time I got to learn how house work is actual work ,its nothing less than any other job but much more. This work therefore is a celebration of all those mothers ,house helps and everyone out there that takes part in doing these tiring house work ,and that I appreciate and value you and hope everyone else out there can learn to appreciate them. The work is done using an old method of art printing called print making, its quite time consuming and hectic to practice but thanks to
lockdown ,I had enough time to cut and print the work as well as calm down and break the monotony normal life.
