She is a female visual artist whose work is inspired by nature, immediate surroundings, culture, and the stories people tell. Growing up in Mulago, a city suburb, she started practicing art at an early age which she carried on through her school life. Her consistent effort in experimenting, exploring and developing creative ideas in visual art has seen her evolve through her craft. Her work is mainly dominated by figures of women, children because they make up the majority of her surrounding at home, and she is familiar with them. She is drawn to women in everyday settings. She practices sculpture, painting, and
drawing. She completed her Bachelor’s in Art and industrial design 2020, and is currently advancing her
career in art. She is also doing apprenticeship at Vodo art lab and Society.
Statement
My work is dominated by children and women because they make up the majority of my surrounding., And I find them interesting. My preferred media are acrylic paint and watercolor because they are easy to control, and the product is amazing for me. I was drawn to newspapers because of the aesthetic about them but also that they are timeless, and the letter forms on them put across a message to the viewer.
